Fraunhofer HHI is showcasing a new light-based communication module for harsh industry applications. The optical wireless communication device offers an exceptionally wide coverage that can be used in industrial environments or for vehicle to vehicle communication.
Furthermore, Fraunhofer HHI is set to reveal significant advancements in Test & Measurement technology, including Optical Multi-Format Transmitters and IQ Modulators. By incorporating precision Optical Single Loop Control and a 100 GHz Coherent Receiver Frontend, they aim to redefine data transmission standards. These innovations, along with their work in 6G Networks and Quantum Key Distribution, promise to revolutionize connectivity and security measures. |

自動車通信 新製品 デモ LiFi System for robust vehicle to vehicle communication The new optical wireless communication system from Fraunhofer HHI is optimized for an extremely large coverage. Thereby it can realize high speed data communication in an significantly extended area and allows for a high degree of mobility. The light-based LiFi system can be used in harsh industrial environments and is especially well suited for vehicle to vehicle communication. Due to the large coverage angle of more than 120°, vehicles can communicate with a stable connection at high speeds while moving. Using light-based instead of commonly used radio-based systems enables a robust hacking-, jamming-, and interference-free transmission. |

通信 新製品 デモ 400G Coherent Optical Frontend Fraunhofer presents a compact 400G I/Q transmitter and coherent receiver for high-bitrate transmission experiments The 400G Coherent Optical Frontend is a compact optical transceiver to demonstrate high-bitrate data transmission. The transceiver allows for flexible generation and detection of optical data signals up to 64 GBaud. This corresponds to 400 Gbit/s using PDM-16QAM modulation. Several transceivers can be combined in one chassis to realize a multi-channel system, e.g. for space-division multiplexing. |

It comprises a high-bandwidth coherent receiver with transimpedance amplifiers to convert optical data signals with various modulation formats (e.g. QPSK and m-QAM) into electrical RF baseband signals with an o/e bandwidth up to 60 GHz. Its unique features are a high fidelity tuneable C-band laser source and a fully integrated Coherent Optical Receiver, allowing operation at symbol rates beyond 120 GBaud, enabling transmission capacities in the Terabit/s single carrier regime. |

It is a fully integrated optical frontend instrument that converts differential electrical RF signals into various optical modulation formats (e.g. QPSK and m-QAM) using a high fidelity tuneable laser source followed by a high-bandwidth dual-polarization IQ Mach Zehnder modulator with a flexible and highly stable automatic bias control. It is an ideal match to convert signals generated by an Arbitrary Waveform Generator (AWG) into the optical domain. |
