World records and the first spin-off
We established our first spin-off, Hi-Beams in 2021. The aim of Hi-Beams is offering of a new innovative methods of surface treatment of materials and parts using Laser Shock Peening or Laser Surface Texturing, combining them with PVD coatings, applied by low-voltage arc evaporation.

In 2021, the BIVOJ laser surpassed its own record set in 2016 by consistently achieving the pulse energy of 145 J at 10 Hz, almost 40% more than 5 years ago. We also achieved further world records, in multi-beam laser nanostructuring and also in the speed production of laser-induced periodic nanostructures on a stainless steel surface, both operated by the laser system PERLA.

UNIQUE HI-TECH SCIENTIFIC ECOSYSTEM
HiLASE, together with other institutions, established the Brain4Industry consortium. It aims to enable, in particular for small and medium-sized enterprises, access to key knowledge, technology platforms, prototyping solutions, testing systems, to improve their production & business processes and enable the production of high value-added products etc. HiLASE will cover the areas integrating additive and laser technologies. We are also a part of the STAR science and technology cluster.

Perla 100 - High-power thin disk laser

PERLA lasers are compact laser systems based on a thin-disk regenerative amplifier operating at 1030 nm wavelength delivering picosecond pulses with pulse energy of up to 20 mJ* and repetitions rates from 1 to 200 kHz. It can incorporate wavelength conversion modules with harmonics generation (2nd, 3rd, 4th) and optical parametric amplifier stages (OPA, OPG) covering a wide range of wavelengths from UV to Mid-IR.


Seed laser - mode-locked all-normal dispersion (ANDi) fibre oscillator

Robust design of GOpico® fibre oscillator guarantees excellent beam quality and stability. The excellent properties of GOpico® make it our first choice of the seeding source for PERLA lasers. It is also now available as a product for external customers.
